Sump Pumps
Most people never look at their sump pumps until it's too late! A little preventative maintenance can save you thousands of dollars and headaches!
-
If your sump pump is over 10 years old, it is probably worth replacing as they are fairly inexpensive and easy to install. You can usually buy a good one at your local home improvement store for under $150 and replace it yourself.

If you have a secondary battery backup sump pump, you should test the battery and check the water level every year to make sure it will last during a power outage. Normally those batteries are only good for 3 to 4 years. Like any car battery it is well worth testing and replacing when necessary.
